Use case
Host an autonomous AI agent that keeps working
An agent that works on its own needs more than a server. It needs a place to run all day, a limit on what it can spend, and a way to ask you before it does something it cannot undo.
The problem
Serverless functions stop after seconds or minutes, and a plain VPS gives you no view of what the agent did or spent. An agent loop that goes wrong overnight can burn money before you notice.
What NeverHalt gives you
- A daily AI budget
Route Claude or OpenAI calls through NeverHalt and set a daily cap. When it is used up the calls are refused (or the agent is stopped, your choice).
- It asks before risky actions
Your agent can ask you for approval and wait for your answer in the dashboard. No answer means no.
- You see what it does
Live logs, plus an activity log of AI calls, tool calls and errors with token counts and cost.
- A disk that survives restarts
Every agent gets its own /app/data folder. SQLite files, checkpoints and caches are still there after a crash, a redeploy or a restart.
- Restarts itself
If the process crashes it is started again automatically. Restarts that loop too fast are held back and the log says why.
- Secrets stay secret
API keys are encrypted at rest and injected into the process. Your real AI key can stay with NeverHalt and never enter the agent.
Ask for approval from inside the agent
import neverhalt
if neverhalt.ask("Send the report to 120 customers?", timeout=3600):
send_report()
else:
print("owner said no, or did not answer")Questions
- Which AI providers does the budget cover?
- Claude (Anthropic) and OpenAI calls that go through the NeverHalt gateway. Calls made some other way are not counted or capped.
- Can I run an agent somewhere else and still use the controls?
- Yes. Connect an agent you run: it keeps running on your machine and uses NeverHalt for budget, approvals and the activity log.
- Are my prompts stored?
- No. NeverHalt records counts, model, cost and timing, not the text of prompts or answers.
No card needed. Confirm your email, deploy from GitHub or a zip.
