Use case
Keep your Telegram bot online, always
A Telegram bot has to be awake whenever someone writes to it. That means a process that never goes to sleep and comes back by itself if it falls over.
The problem
Free web hosts put bots to sleep, serverless platforms cut long-polling connections, and a home computer is off when you need it.
What NeverHalt gives you
- Restarts itself
If the process crashes it is started again automatically. Restarts that loop too fast are held back and the log says why.
- A disk that survives restarts
Every agent gets its own /app/data folder. SQLite files, checkpoints and caches are still there after a crash, a redeploy or a restart.
- Secrets stay secret
API keys are encrypted at rest and injected into the process. Your real AI key can stay with NeverHalt and never enter the agent.
- You see what it does
Live logs, plus an activity log of AI calls, tool calls and errors with token counts and cost.
Where to keep the bot state
import os
DATA_DIR = os.getenv("DATA_DIR", "/app/data")
os.makedirs(DATA_DIR, exist_ok=True)
db_path = os.path.join(DATA_DIR, "bot.db") # survives restartsQuestions
- Does it support webhooks as well as polling?
- Yes. A daemon can poll, and webhook agents are started by an HTTPS call with a secret token.
- Where do I put my bot token?
- In the agent secrets. They are encrypted and injected as environment variables.
No card needed. Confirm your email, deploy from GitHub or a zip.
